We have a range of courses to suit all, from curious novices to seasoned cocktail bartenders looking for some more advanced techniques.

Courses are held at Bar Folklore in Folkestone but can be booked for your home or venue also.

Cocktail Taster Sessions

£45 - 2hrs

Minium 4 participants

During this session you will learn the basics of cocktail making. Great for hen parties, birthday celebrations or for those that want a light hearted peek at the world of cocktails.

Following simple steps and guided by your host you’ll journey through time learning about the history of each cocktail as well as making and drinking three full strength drinks.

 

Spirit Masterclasses

£75 - 4hrs

Minium 4 participants

Choose from:

Gin, Rum, Vodka, Tequila and Agave Spirits, Scotch Whisky, or American Whiskey

This masterclass offers a comprehensive and engaging dive into the world of your chosen spirit, from history and distillation to aging and flavor variants.

Start with a welcome drink and introductions before exploring the journey of raw ingredients to bottle. Learn how aging and finishing impact flavor, followed by a guided tasting of three variants.

After a short break, dive into cocktail making, using professional cocktail kits to create and enjoy three classic drinks. Wrap up with a Q&A session and the opportunity to purchase spirits or a cocktail kit to take home.

Introduction to Bartending

£450 40hrs introductory offer for first 4 students

(Normally £750 40hrs)

4 weeks / 2 nights a week

30% theory, 70% hands on sampling and bartending.

This course is the foundation to anyone looking to start a career in bartending.

We cover everything needed from choosing the right bar to start working in, customer service, wine service, cocktail making, moving behind the bar, working in a team, and lots lots more.

You will study all the major spirits categories, sampling each day and you’ll also learn to make over 35 classic cocktails.

At the end of the course you’ll have the confidence and tools to start the journey into hospitality.

Advanced Mixology

£1250 40hrs over 4 weeks / 2 nights a week

30% theory, 70% hands on making, sampling and bartending.

Suitable for experienced cocktail bartenders or for students that have completed the Introduction To Bartending Course.

Take your cocktails to the next level, learn how to effectively and safely used advanced techniques to create world-class cocktails and ingredients.

Here you will get to grips with using dry ice, fat washing and infusing spirits, making cocktail bitters and liqueurs from scratch, clarifying cocktails cocktail competition coaching and much much more.

Not only will you learn over 12 pro methods but you will infusions, mixers, bitters and liqueurs to keep. At the end of the course we hold a cocktail competition using all the new skills and ingredients you have made.
